Beamo

Beamo emphasises creativity and social interaction as key to the experience of play and vise versa. Rethinking the common application of computer and communication technologies for children, and identifying aspects essential to a child's social, cognitive and intellectual development. It provides children with a tool to create their own narrative of play, by giving them the means to record, manipulate and create messages of light, vibration, sound, graphics, speech, images and video. This media is audio tagged with Starwords, and are sent to other Beamos when they are spoken again in conversation, creating intuitive and expressive communications. Beamo it not directly educational, but encourages a child's development through their own exploration and fun.
